How to republish a PDF

This guide assumes you’ve made your edits in the block-by-block editor — see Fix PDF accessibility issues in the editor if you haven’t yet.

  1. Open your PDF project’s editor.
  2. Once you’re satisfied with your edits, select Publish (or Republish, if you’re updating a document you’ve published before).
  3. Wait for processing to finish. This regenerates the tagged PDF and its HTML counterpart from your edited content.

Publishing never changes how the document looks — only the accessibility layer assistive technology reads. See What PDF accessibility remediation means for why that’s a hard rule.

After publishing, download options appear on the project page:

  • Tagged PDF — the remediated PDF with your edits applied, ready to distribute in place of the original.
  • HTML version — a web-readable version generated from the same edited structure.
  • Original source file — the file exactly as you first uploaded it, unchanged.

If you find something else to fix after publishing, go back into the editor, make your changes, and publish again. Each publish regenerates the output from the current state of your edits, so republishing is safe to do as many times as you need.
